The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®

On September 22, 2013, a team from Weatherby & Associates, PC participated in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®.  While we have worked with many clients and families impacted by this devastating illness, this was our first time participating in the Walk as a firm.  Although it was raining early that morning, the skies cleared in time for the event and the weather turned out to be beautiful.  The walk took place in Bushnell Park and there were walkers as far as the eye could see as we made our way around the park.

Currently, as many as 5.4 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease and millions more are faced with the financial and emotional challenges of caring for a loved one with the disease.  It is the 6th leading cause of death in this country.  If current trends continue, Alzheimer’s will bankrupt families, communities, and our healthcare system.  The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.  The Walk in Hartford was one of more than 600 walks held in communities throughout the country.

We want to thank everyone who supported our efforts in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.  Your support helped us exceed our team’s fundraising goal!  THANK YOU.
