Successor Trustee Meeting May 2014

Successor Trustee Meeting May 2014

On May 31, 2014 we held our annual Successor Trustee Meeting.  More than 80 of our clients and their family members attended!  We were delighted to see such a crowd, and even more delighted to spend some time chatting with many of you and answering your questions.

We began holding our annual Successor Trustee Meeting to help our clients understand the benefits of the planning they have done.  The meeting also gives the individuals they have chosen to fill different roles within their estate plan an understanding of what these responsibilities entail.  We will have other educational opportunities for our clients throughout the rest of 2014, but this meeting provides a unique opportunity for clients and families to stay informed about the latest relevant changes in the law and get a refresher course on the features of their estate plans.  We also enjoy breakfast together and hopefully have a little fun too.

At the meeting we collected non-perishable items which were donated to Community Renewal Team (CRT).  CRT is a local non-profit organization serving low-income and middle class families in Connecticut who need assistance with hunger, housing, employment, and mental health issues.  Attendees contributed so many items that the box we brought to hold donations was quickly overflowing.  We ultimately collected four full grocery totes of non-perishable items that will be distributed through CRT to shelters and neighborhood centers in Connecticut.  Thanks again to those who donated!

It was an open presentation, not only to me, by to my whole involved family. There was nothing that wasn’t fully explained, and no questions that went unanswered. Read More
